D.2 Beam and spin dynamics in a fast ramping stretcher ring

In order to increase the beam polarization and the beam intensity as well as to improve the beam quality, it is planned to perform detailed investigations of the spin and beam dynamics in the electron accelerator ELSA. These investigations are based on numerical simulations and their experimental verification, using sophisticated beam diagnostic tools which were successfully developed and installed during the last funding periods. The studies will be used to find optimized settings of the operation parameters of the accelerator.
