B.6 Neutron properties from light nuclei

Neutron properties can be extracted from light nuclei using the controlled theoretical framework of chiral effective field theory. We plan to extend our previous work on electromagnetic neutral pion production off 3H and 3He beyond threshold and to heavier nuclear targets. We will also investigate the role of the Δ(1232) resonance. Finally, we plan to calculate matrix elements of the axial current which arise in weak interaction processes.
