B.4 In-medium properties of mesons

In addition to the measurement of the transparency ratio and the meson line shape, studied in the second funding period, further information on the meson-nucleus interaction can be obtained from studying meson-nucleus bound states. The search for ω mesic states has been started in a pilot experiment and should be continued with improved statistics in the final funding period. This study should be extended to the η’ meson for which a relatively narrow in-medium width of ≈20 MeV has been measured which is favorable for identifying η’ mesic states.
